About SGA Elections

Looking for the 2026 SGA Election results? You can find them in two locations!

Please join the Election Board in congratulating the newly elected officers within the UMBC Student Government Association!

Officers will be inaugurated into their positions on Friday, May 8th at 12pm on The Commons Main Street. This is a public celebration open to all UMBC undergraduates!

Looking for information on how to vote in the 2026 SGA Elections? You’re in the right spot!

• Elections are entirely online in myUMBC.
• Once Election Week has started on Sunday, April 12, all UMBC undergraduate students who are actively enrolled in at least one credit will have access to a series of posts in the SGA Elections 2026 myUMBC page. The polls in those posts will not be active until Election Week starts!
• To cast your vote for each position, you’ll see multiple posts with polls. These include:
  • a post with a poll to vote for a presidential ticket (including President/Executive Vice President);
  • a post with a poll to vote for a Vice President of Student Organizations;
  • a post with a poll to vote for Treasurer;
  • a post with a poll to vote for 7 Finance Board members;
  • a post with a poll to vote for 13 Senators;
  • a post with a poll for the 2026-2027 ProveIt! proposals.
• Make sure you cast your vote in each post in order to vote for all of the elected SGA officer positions and ProveIt!.
• Voting will end at 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, April 18. If you have not voted before that time, you will no longer have the option to vote.
• SGA elected officers for the 2026 – 2027 academic year will be announced on SGA Election Board’s myUMBC page by Tuesday, April 21.

Who oversees SGA Elections?

The SGA Election Board is in charge of running the election for all elected offices and ensuring election policies. It is comprised of seven neutral students.

They are responsible for making decisions that create a fair election that is open to all undergraduates. During the election season, the body verifies that candidates meet eligibility requirements, host candidate campaigning events, and hear complaints regarding election rule violations.
