The Student Organizations Support Team (SOST) assists the Vice President for Student Organizations (VPSO) in all matters concerning the betterment and representation of UMBC’s undergraduate student organizations.
Positions include:
Student Organization Committee Representative, who assists the VPSO directly in matters concerning student organizations such as facilitation and reviewing applications.
Director of Development, who assists with the development of new and helps enhance existing programs, events, trainings (in-person and virtual) that benefit student orgs leaders in collaboration with SGA advisor and other Student Affairs staff on campus.
Director of Collaboration, who builds collaboration amongst the different student organization classifications and acts as the chief counselor to the VPSO and SOST on properly connecting student organizations with the Student Government Association.
Director of Resources, who manages and acts as the lead administrator of the Student Organization Resource Center (SORC) and Student Organization Memorabilia Cabinet.
SORC
The Student Organization Resource Center (SORC) has equipment and various other reusable materials that student organizations can use for free, allowing your student organization more room to buy other materials. Any items you wish to use should be requested at least three business days in advance of the day in which you plan to check them out.
