College is about developing, growing, and becoming a well-rounded person. These three intentions come to fruition through student organizations and extracurricular involvement. I saw this as a necessity in my education and is why I got involved with organizations on campus such as the Charm City Connection, Dance Council of Majors, the Student Government Association as a First-Year Ambassador and subsequently the Co-Advisor of the program and creating a new student organization on campus — the Association of Black Artists. My involvement in these organizations and serving on their executive boards have shown me the behind the scenes experiences of student organizations and their leaders. These experiences compound to me having the knowledge to effectively represent and advocate for the student organizations on our campus that enrich our experience here. I know what type of support I want which offers to me a better perspective in giving support to others.
