Administrative Assistant, SGA Operations

TEAM LEAD: PRESIDENT

Responsibilities:

      • Actively make an effort to participate in and promote SGA-affiliated initiatives and events
      • Attend officer retreats and developmental sessions
      • Hold and maintain office hours
      • Manage all SGA purchasing
      • Act as a liaison between the Student Affairs Business Services Center and SGA regarding orders
      • Maintain the SGA email inbox
      • Perform all other duties as assigned by the SGA President
      • Submit bi-weekly progress reports to the SGA Stipend Review Committee

Time Commitment: 2 – 4 hours per week
Annual Stipend: $494.00

Director, Department of Communications

TEAM LEAD: PRESIDENT

Responsibilities:

      • Promote and support UMBC undergraduate students by working with them and other campus partners to¬†co-create¬†programs, services, and relationships to improve the UMBC community
      • Actively make an effort to participate in and promote SGA-affiliated initiatives and events
      • Manage, plan, and determine strategies to execute the mission for the Department of Communications
      • Uphold the values and work towards the vision of the organization
      • Coordinate all SGA communication strategies with the support of other members of the Department of Communications
      • Attend officer retreats and developmental sessions
      • Attend bi-weekly Executive Council meetings (every other Wednesday at free hour)
      • Create and lead Department of Communication meetings
      • Perform all other duties as assigned by the SGA President
      • Submit bi-weekly progress reports to the SGA Stipend Review Committee

Associate Director, Department of Communications

Director, Department of Special Projects

Responsibilities:

      • Promote and support UMBC undergraduate students by working with them and other campus partners to co-create programs, services, and relationships to improve the UMBC community
      • Manage, plan, and determine strategies to execute the mission for the Department of Special Projects
      • Actively make an effort to participate in and promote SGA-affiliated initiatives and events
      • Uphold the values and work towards the vision of the organization
      • Attend officer retreats and developmental sessions
      • Manage existing special projects and flagship initiatives within SGA, including Prove It! and SGA’s involvement in local and state government, in conjunction with the Associate Directors
      • Seek out groups of students outside of SGA attempting to make change on campus, in order to offer SGA’s support and resources
      • Maintain SGA’s presence in various on-campus events and settings
      • Perform all other duties as assigned by the President
      • Submit bi-weekly progress reports to the SGA Stipend Review Committee

Associate Director of Prove It!, Department of Special Projects

TEAM LEAD: PRESIDENT

Responsibilities:

      • Promote and support UMBC undergraduate students by working with them and other campus partners to co-create programs, services, and relationships to improve the UMBC community
      • Manage, plan, and determine strategies to execute the mission for the Department of Special Projects
      • Actively make an effort to participate in and promote SGA-affiliated initiatives and events
      • Uphold the values and work towards the vision of the organization
      • Attend officer retreats and developmental sessions
      • Manage and implement SGA’s annual idea competition, Prove It! This flagship initiative awards up to $10,000 to student groups that are seeking to to bring positive change to campus
      • Work with campus administrators to create a vetting process that determines the practicality of the submitted initiatives
      • Administer Prove It! elections
      • Develop plans and strategies to sustain this initiative for the foreseeable future
      • Submit bi-weekly progress reports to the SGA Stipend Review Committee

Associate Director of Legislative Affairs, Department of Special Projects

TEAM LEAD: PRESIDENT

Responsibilities:

      • Promote and support UMBC undergraduate students by working with them and other campus partners to co-create programs, services, and relationships to improve the UMBC community
      • Manage, plan, and determine strategies to execute the mission for the Department of Special Projects
      • Actively make an effort to participate in and promote SGA-affiliated initiatives and events
      • Uphold the values and work towards the vision of the organization
      • Attend officer retreats and developmental sessions
      • Develop and maintain UMBC SGA’s involvement in the local and state governments, especially regarding policy that affects UMBC and the surrounding community
      • Increase awareness on campus about those policies through programming
      • Act as a liaison between the University System of Maryland and UMBC SGA in collaboration with the SGA President
      • Submit bi-weekly progress reports to the SGA Stipend Review Committee

Associate Advisor, First Year Ambassadors

      • Manage, plan, and determine strategies to execute the mission for the Department of Special Projects

      • Actively make an effort to participate in and promote SGA-affiliated initiatives and events
      • Work alongside the SGA Executive Vice President to plan and implement a curriculum for SGA’s First Year Ambassador program
      • Attend officer retreats and developmental sessions
      • Aid in the personal and professional development of the First Year Ambassadors
      • Submit bi-weekly progress reports to the SGA Stipend Review Committee

      • Proofread documents, materials, and communications
      • Respond to common emails
      • Attend meetings with administration when applicable

      • Uphold the values and work towards the vision of the organization
      • Actively make an effort to participate in and promote SGA-affiliated initiatives and events

      • Develop programs, in partnership with UMBC partners, which enable student organizations to develop, gain knowledge and resources, and reach their visions and goals

Student Organization Resource Center Administrator, Student Organization Support Team

TEAM LEAD: VICE PRESIDENT FOR STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS

Responsibilities:

      • Uphold the values and work towards the vision of the organization
      • Actively make an effort to participate in and promote SGA-affiliated initiatives and events
      • Attend officer retreats and developmental sessions
      • Manage the rental system, upkeep and the conditions of the Student Organization Resource Center (located in Upper Flat Tuesday’s, and will contain frequently used items by student organizations in an effort to save organizations money and ensure sustainability)
      • Submit bi-weekly progress reports to the SGA Stipend Review Committee
