Project Manager of the Merchandise & Marketing Funds, Finance Support Team

The Finance Support Team is a group of students who are dedicated in supporting and providing resources to student organizations as they navigate the Finance Board at UMBC. This team works with the Treasurer to implement effective communication and support for student organizations. The team is also a part of the Student Government Association and works in conjunction with other SGA branches to support student organizations and strive to make the UMBC better through their work and efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor Marketing Fund
  • Monitor Merchandise Fund
  • Email student orgs about their request for funding
  • Check in with Accounting Associate in Student Affairs Business Service Center (SABSC0 and Commonvision staff at least once a month
  • Meet with the SGA Treasurer weekly to check in and update about requests
  • Fulfill all other responsibilities assigned to a Cabinet member of the Executive Branch in SGA’s Guiding Documents
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Treasurer and other SGA Executive members
  • Submit bi-weekly progress reports to the SGA Stipend Review Committee

Proposed Annual Stipend: $570.00

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completed at least 12 credits at UMBC
  • Enrolled in coursework as a full time undergraduate student
  • Preferably familiar with Commonvision and/or Student Affairs Business Service Center (SABSC)
  • Preferably has current or past experience as an officer of a student organization
  • Prior experience in SGA, civic engagement work, service learning, or other relevant experience
  • Attended STRiVE, Alternative Spring Break, LeaderShape, or other leadership development experiences
  • Experience with group work and leading groups, preferably outside of the classroom

  • Communicating with student organizations (email, in person, chat, phone) regarding funding allocation submissions
  • Assist in scheduling student organizations to meet with Finance Board and preparing the agenda for Finance Board’s weekly meetings
  • Requesting and organizing online documents and PDFs in Google Drive and the UMBC Box folder
  • Meet with the SGA Treasurer weekly to check in and update about requests
  • Fulfill all other responsibilities assigned to a Cabinet member of the Executive Branch in SGA’s Guiding Documents
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Treasurer and other SGA Executive members
  • Submit bi-weekly progress reports to the SGA Stipend Review Committee

This team works with the Vice President for Student Organizations to implement effective communication, programming and support for student organizations. The team is also a part of the Student Government Association and works in conjunction with other SGA branches to support student organizations and strive to make the UMBC better through their work and efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote and support UMBC undergraduate students by working with them and other campus partners to co-create programs, services, and relationships to support student organizations and improve the UMBC community
  • Maintain communicative resources such as newsletters and social media to inform student organizations of resources, programming and support
  • Uphold the values and work towards the vision of the organization
  • Attend officer retreats and developmental sessions
  • Hold and maintain office hours
  • Attend bi-weekly Student Organization Support Team Meetings
    • Note: The Student Organization Support Team will meet at the discretion of the Vice President of Student Organizations
  • Fulfill all other responsibilities assigned to a Cabinet member of the Executive Branch in SGA’s Guiding Documents
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the SGA Vice President for Student Organizations and other SGA Executive members

The team is also a part of the Student Government Association and works in conjunction with other SGA branches to support student organizations and strive to make the UMBC better through their work and efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote and support UMBC undergraduate students by working with them and other campus partners to co-create programs, services, and relationships to support student organizations and improve the UMBC community
  • Develop programs in partnership with other branches of the SGA
  • Maintain and establish programming which enables student organizations to develop, gain knowledge and resources, and reach their visions and goals
  • Uphold the values and work towards the vision of the organization
  • Attend officer retreats and developmental sessions
  • Hold and maintain office hours
  • Attend bi-weekly Student Organization Support Team Meetings
    • Note: The Student Organization Support Team will meet at the discretion of the Vice President of Student Organizations

This team works with the Vice President for Student Organizations to implement effective communication, programming and support for student organizations. The team is also a part of the Student Government Association and works in conjunction with other SGA branches to support student organizations and strive to make the UMBC better through their work and efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote and support UMBC undergraduate students by working with them and other campus partners to co-create programs, services, and relationships to support student organizations and improve the UMBC community
  • Attend Student Organization Committee meetings in order to partake in efforts to assist and recommend changes in current student organizations and creation of new student organizations
  • Uphold the values and work towards the vision of the organization
  • Attend officer retreats and developmental sessions
  • Hold and maintain office hours
  • Attend bi-weekly Student Organization Support Team Meetings
    • Note: The Student Organization Support Team will meet at the discretion of the Vice President of Student Organizations

Associate Director of Special Projects & Flagship Initiatives, Prove It!

Responsibilities:

  • Promote and support UMBC undergraduate students by working with them and other campus partners to co-create programs, services, and relationships to improve the UMBC community
  • Develop a plan for the coordination and implementation of the Prove It! initiative by working with the Executive Board and listening to previous Prove It! stakeholders
  • Recruit members and facilitate meetings of the SGA Prove It! Screening Committee from stakeholders across campus
  • Facilitate the Prove It! election
  • Meet with Prove It! grant winners to make arrangements concerning the implementation of their project(s)
  • Attend Special Projects & Flagship Initiatives team meetings
    • Time and location of the Special Projects team meetings up to the discretion of the Director
  • Uphold the values and work towards the vision of the organization
  • Attend officer retreats and developmental sessions
  • Hold and maintain office hours
  • Fulfill all other responsibilities assigned to a Cabinet member of the Executive Branch in SGA’s Guiding Documents

  • Promote and support UMBC undergraduate students by working with them and other campus partners to co-create programs, services, and relationships to improve the UMBC community
  • Develop a plan for the coordination and implementation of the Between Elections/Election Night Extravaganza initiative by working with members of the Student Events Board, the Residential Student Association, College Democrats, College Republicans, and any other relevant student organization.
  • Review and modify the current program to reach more students across campus
  • Attend Special Projects & Flagship Initiatives team meetings
    • Time and location of the Special Projects team meetings up to the discretion of the Director
  • Uphold the values and work towards the vision of the organization
  • Attend officer retreats and developmental sessions
  • Hold and maintain office hours
  • Fulfill all other responsibilities assigned to a Cabinet member of the Executive Branch in SGA’s Guiding Documents
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the SGA President

Senator, Legislative Branch

Responsibilities:

  • Attend weekly Senate meetings and abide by the approved attendance policy (Note: You must attend weekly meetings. Senate meetings are weekly on Mondays at 5:30 until the meeting’s conclusion)
  • Actively make an effort to participate in and promote all SGA-affiliated initiatives and events
  • Promote and support UMBC undergraduate students by actively working with them and other campus partners to co-create programs, services, and relationships to improve the UMBC community
  • Communicate with members of the Executive Branch and encourage collaboration whenever possible
  • Meet regularly with various UMBC community members (faculty, staff, administrators, and other students) to effectively represent the interests of the student body
  • Serve on university shared governance committees
  • Accurately record all meeting minutes
  • Fulfill all other responsibilities assigned to Senators in SGA’s Guiding Documents
  • Submit bi-weekly progress reports to the SGA Stipend Review Committee

Positions Available: 2

Annual Stipend: $746.00

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in SGA and/or Student Leadership
  • Experience working on a team

Secretary, Legislative Branch

Responsibilities:

  • Uphold the values and work towards the vision of the organization
  • Attend the weekly meetings of the body and abide by the approved attendance policy
    • Note: Senate meets weekly on Mondays at 5:30 until the meeting’s conclusion. Finance Board meets weekly on Tuesdays at 5:30 until the meeting’s conclusion.
  • Make an effort to participate in and promote all SGA-affiliated initiatives
  • Report and meet with the Administrator of the Executive Council to maintain up-to-date record keeping
  • Accurately record all meeting minutes
  • Perform all other duties assigned by the Chair of the respective body
  • Submit bi-weekly progress reports to the SGA Stipend Review Committee

Positions Available: 2 (1 Senate Secretary; 1 Finance Board Secretary)

Annual Stipend: $530.00

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent note taking and organizational skills
