Candidate Responses:
1. In high school, I was active in Debate Team, Mock Trial, and Envirothon. These helped me develop skills in articulation, critical thinking, and teamwork. My Mock Trial Team was in the final four in the state both years I was a member and the Envirothon team I was on was fifth and second in the state my junior and senior years. I also was in Model UN and held an officer position in Allegany High School Amnesty International Club both as a junior and senior. Junior year I was Amnesty International correspondent and senior year I was president. I am a Sondheim Scholar and will be a sophomore in the fall.

2. I would like to see UMBC students become more active in their community. Whether it is in organizations on campus, in the local area, or which cover national and global communities, I would encourage students to become more involved. I also would like to make UMBC a more eco-friendly campus by supporting groups who work to decrease energy use, promote understanding, and support environmentally friendly new developments on campus. I would also like to improve the health and wellness of UMBC students by improving available resources, and increasing awareness of those that already exist.

3. I have a lot of ideas that I can bring to SGA, but most of all I want to represent the student body. By being a student organization advocate, I could learn about the topics that UMBC students are most passionate about. Additionally, I would encourage involvement so that more voices can be heard. UMBC has a lot of potential, and I would like to help us fulfill that potential.

Brief Platform Statement:

  • Create Opportunities to Increase Student Involvement
  • Make UMBC an Environmentally Friendlier Campus
  • Increase the Health and Well-Being of Students
