CANDIDATE PROFILE

Mark Gradoni

Candidate for Senator

Questions:
1. What experience and qualifications do you have?
2. What is your platform? What do you hope to accomplish if you win?
3. What I really want students to know about me is…. ?

Candidate Responses:
1. I have served as Director of Public Relations for UMBC Men's Rugby, and served as a member of the Honors College Council. I am a member of the Sigma Alpha Lambda and Golden Key honors societies.

2. I hope to give all the students at UMBC more of a voice in how their campus is run. Many students feel that the SGA is either inaccessible or is irrelevant to their own experiences at UMBC. In the broadest sense, I hope to change that perception. If I am elected by the students of UMBC, I will endeavor to make the SGA accessible to all students and campus organizations; I will fight for improving the campus and the collegiate experience at UMBC; I will make sure that every student knows that the SGA works for the students, not themselves.

3. I am a hard worker and dedicated student and I hope to apply my work ethic and enthusiasm to work for the entire student body. I believe that UMBC should be the envy of the University of Maryland system, and that this goal is not unattainable. I will fight everyday for what the students want: fixing Erickson Field, better campus events, particularly on the weekends, and anything else that students ask me to advocate for the improvement of UMBC as a community and an institution.

Brief Platform Statement:

  • A voice for every student at UMBC.
  • Campus-wide improvements for the benefit of all students (i.e. fixing Erickson Field, etc.).
  • A Student Government that works for the students.
