Gabe is returning to the Cabinet this year as the Director of Academic Affairs. He is eager to improve upon what he accomplished in this office last year. That included creating a Study Groups program in which over 100 students took part in last year, working with other members of the SGA to keep as many foreign languages at UMBC as possible, and working with the Campus Connect committee to create a mentoring program that will improve retention at the university. In addition to taking the Study Group program to new heights, he also wants to look into creating a peer advising program, bring new exciting classes to UMBC, and work on creating a online teacher rating system exclusive to UMBC. He also ready to help any student out that has a problem with an academic related matter or anything else on campus.
Prior to this year, Gabe served in the SGA for two years, as Director of Academic Affairs and as a First Year Ambassador to the Senate.
Gabe is a junior majoring in Biology, but is also a pre-med as well as working towards his teaching certification. He hopes to attend medical school after graduating from UMBC, but would not mind being a high school teacher either. He graduated from Liberty High School in his hometown of Eldersburg, MD.
