    Gabrielle is a freshman at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She is a Sondheim Public Affairs Scholar and is planning to major in Political Science with a focus on Educational Policy. Gabrielle also plans to receive a Secondary Education certificate in social studies.
    Gabrielle is eager to join the Student Government Association at UMBC as the Assistant to the Chief of Staff. She looks forward to taking an active role in promoting and strengthening the student voice at UMBC.
    A Baltimore County native, Gabrielle was appointed by Governor Robert L. Ehrlich to serve as the Student Member to the Baltimore County Board of Education for the 2005-2006 school year. Gabrielle pursued initiatives to close the student achievement gap and increase student involvement in southern Baltimore County. A graduate of Carver Center for the Arts and Technology, Gabrielle continues to serve on Carver’s School Improvement Team This summer, Gabrielle will return to Baltimore County as an intern for the Office of Equity and Assurance, working on projects that will ensure the implementation of effective and equitable outcomes for all Baltimore County students.
    Upon graduation in 2010, Gabrielle plans to pursue a master’s degree school administration and supervision. Gabrielle then hopes to pursue a doctorate in education administration.
