5:34 meeting called to order.
Everyone here.
No objections to last week’s meeting.
Week in review:
Thaddeus- Elani and I met with Joe Regier. Found out he hired 8 students to take phone calls (Nextel phone system). You can call and find out where the busses are, but does not put out info very well. UMBC just got on CollTown network – network of schools in and around Baltimore. We are responsible for that route one day a week. They have specific regulations we have a to follow (inside/outside video). CollTown uses GPS.
Brittany – Communiversity Fest. Need more volunteers, especially with inflatables. Carrie: maybe could give students extra credit for volunteering. Offering $125 to student org or sorority for running table for whole day. Also free ticket to comedy show and t-shirt. Brady: might be worth sending out email to woolies to ask for help. David:
Special Projects:
Possible bigger projects.
Fireside lounge. Conversations from 3 years ago led to use of student orgs space and uc space. Commons paid for entirely by students, but there is a space that is not accessible to students.
JL04-0607 Printer legislation
Can print color.
Crazy good deal.
House has already passed this legislation.
Copy machine supported by Xerox. We pay a monthly fee.
There is a method to manage the color printing capabilities. There would be certain people you would have to ask to print color.
Black ink 5000 page - $75
Color toner (2000) typically go for about $75-90
Opted for the next day warranty.
Need to save for x # of months before we’d have money for printer.
Requesting $800 as buffer. Bookstore does not charge shipping. $800 as buffer.

Announcements:
Jordan couldn’t be here but wanted to ask for 2 volunteers to work on fee that would be just for students and not varsity sports at all.
Next Thursday, Homecoming bonfire. We need 12 volunteers.
Elani: Parking petition. Has no proposal but, what is SGA prepared to do?
Overcrowding.
Alex – trying to get carpooling program together.
Carrie: Poli Sci 469 (senior seminar course) would like to do presentation on how to change SGA’s electoral system. Have 4 elections now. Would like to do presentation on other ways to elect SGA members. Presentation would probably be an hour long.
Elani: pay roll!
Everybody here.
7:04 meeting adjourned.
